Bottle, bought @ ’t Arendsnest, Amsterdam.
[as Schans Heel 2000] - vintage 2000]
Pours a nice, lightly hazy ruby-red with a staying, creamy, off-white head. Aroma has caramel, yeast, toffee, light cellar and chocolate. Highish carbonation, fine dry mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet, good chocolate, roasted, lightly ozidized and fine dried fruits. Impressively fresh for such an old beer at that ABV.

Cloudy brown beer, light brown head that quickly disappears. Sweet malty aroma. Quite bitter, almost stoutlike. Dark chocolate, some spices are also there, interesting and nice brew

An unclear brown beer with a fine orange collapsing head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of spices; coriander and cinnamon. The flavor is just like the aroma combined with some sourness.

Dark brown coloured. Interesting aroma of spices and fruits with stench of urine. Smooth, malty flavour with some woody and sourish notes. Very dry finish. Complex and interesting.
