Commercial Description:
This all malt, Vienna-style lager is a real crowd pleaser! Roasted malts and imported hops give it a deliciously smooth malt taste backed by a light hop finish. Perfect for any occasion.

Pours a three finger light tan head that fades quickly to a ring leaving some lace. Nearly clear amber color. Light carbonation and medium bodied. Slight malty nose. Starts sweet, hoppy and smooth, then sweet and finishes slightly bitter. $1.39 for a 12oz bottle from John’s Grocery Iowa City, Ia.

this is a great lager, among the best ive ever had. smooth & flavorful. a perfect winter beer. i wouldnt drink this with food. its too good to be disguised by food. i drank it from the bottle so i cant eveluate the head but if i could find it by the case id load up! ive only seen it in minnesota so good luck finding it. im not crazy about schell original lager but the specialty recipes are top notch

Clear amber/copper body, creamy off-white head. Fruity malt aroma. Kind of nice… almost like a fruitier maibock. Smooth body, light sweet fruity malt. Light hop finish dries it out slightly. Not a bad beer. Not a ton going on but pleasant.

12oz. bottle. Aroma is pretty slight, just some lightly toasted and caramel malt character, perhaps some barely discernible background fruitiness. Clear light-medium amber color with a fine, lasting head. Flavor consists of a light wash of brown sugar, nuttiness and accompanying light, spicy hop bitterness, finishing crisp in lager fashion, thankfully not overwhelmed by sweetness, in fact balanced fairly well but not pronounced or leaving much of an impression, somehow. Semi-dry and moderately effervescent on the palate with a light body. A very small amount of yeast appears here and there. Disappeared quickly and without much fanfare.

Not too bitter, but is very similar to pale yellow american beers. The label says all malt. Perhaps the flavor has a bit more than typical mass brewed. This is better than the adirondac saranac vienna I tasted recently. I think Auggie has a pretty good handle on flavor with his variations of ’Schell’ beers.

Bottle. Orange in color with a light brownish tinge and a respectable head. Sweet malt and floral hop aroma is nice but a bit light. A decent roasted malt flavor with a nice hops background. A toasty smooth finish with a hint of bitterness rounds it out. A good Vienna just a little light all around.

Bottle. Pours out a clear amber colour with a mild-light white head. Scent is lightly sugary with an unusual musty smell. Taste is distinctively malty nested on a light hop backdrop with a mildly sweet finish.

Deep orange with lots of carbonation. Flowery hop smell. Toasty and very malty flavor with some earthiness to it. Very easy to drink.
