Kind of like orange and brown mixed with the orange dominating in the appearance. Aroma is malty with that skunky pilsner smell. At first the beer seems malty, then moves to some hops, and ends with a lightly toasted bread malt taste. Very smooth, but bland. RooftopRogue (423), Champaign, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 17, 2005 A nice sweet aroma of malt introduces this beer. A reddish-bronze and a good full head are trademarks of this beer. This beer is neither thin nor thick as it displays a tingling malt taste to the palate on its way down the throat. It does have a nice lingering appeal. Illini08 (528), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA

Sweet malt aroma, nothing else there to balance it though. Creamy mouthfeel at first, but it gives way to a watery finish. I can just barely taste the hops in the finish. This isn’t particularly bad, just not great either. This might be a good one to start a swill-drinking friend on. KSS (102), Plymouth, Minnesota, USA

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 11, 2005 On Tap at The Copper Stein in MSP airport: Had I known this was a Vienna which as I just found out is similar to Oktoberfest’s I would have tried something else. Honestly, I could barely tell the difference between this brew and Schell’s Oktoberfest. I didn’t think it was anything special. A clear amber in color dominated by soft malts, fruits and chlorine/tin tastes. It has a creamy feel, but it is followed by a major cae of metallic mouth. Do you remember when you were a kid and you licked the bars at the playground. Just try Firebrick and you essentially get the same sensation, minus all the germs. Combine this metallic feel with a soapy taste and there you go. No thanks. MilkmanDan (1940), Eagan, Minnesota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Sep 30, 2005 Clear reddish-copper. Nose dusty, some sweet caramel. Flavor not bad, some good hefty malty sweetness with caramel and a hint of bright fruit, but it’s a mite thin and has an unpleasant soapy character to it. Palate-wise, very nice, full, sticky, and creamy, excellent weight to it. Certainly not offensive, but the great heft of this one can’t quite cope with the vague mingling of astringency and dish soap lingering in the finish.
