Commercial Description:
This all malt, Vienna-style lager is a real crowd pleaser! Roasted malts and imported hops give it a deliciously smooth malt taste backed by a light hop finish. Perfect for any occasion.

Bottle. Poured a smooth off-white head with fair lacing, semi-transparent, fast rising carbonation, and an orange brown hue. Malty and sweet aroma. Lightly bitter, malt and some caramel in the taste. Tingly and somewhat bitter mouthfeel. Medium bodied beer. Just so-so.

The fact that the commerical description brags about imported hops makes me think Michelob. Uh oh! But this is way better. Pours a nice, headless orage. Malty and a bit fruity and floral. A bit low on carbonation. Hardly top notch but good enough.

Overall a really pleasing beer. Pleasant malitiness is not overpowering, keeps its flavor well balanced with the hops. Filling, with a slight sweet, almost fruity flavor.

Bottle: Aroma is very sweet and malty. Caramel and brown sugar. Pours a transparent brownish-orange with a white head that is short lasting. Malty caramel and brown sugar taste with some slight bitterness, sourness, and acidity in the finish. Overall a decent beer.

Light amber with no head. Sweet malt nose. Medium weight with nice sparkle with a dry finish. Malt, sweet light hops and light roasted flavors. Good session quality.

On tap, Slippery’s, Wabasha, Minn. Listed on the menu as Slippery’s Red. A little thin in mouthfeel, and definitely pretty light in flavor and aroma. The flavor that’s there is mostly sweet malt with very little hop. Nothing in comparison to how Capital excels with the style.

Orange color, looked pretty nice. Taste was a little thin, bitterness is noted in the aftertaste. Not a bad beer to drink with friends. Part of a sampler pack.

Festival Tap: They should look to their Cheesehead neighbors for help on this Vienna. So much thinner and lighter in flavor than examples from Lakefront & Capital. Nothing bad about the beer, it was light amber with hints of sweetness and some bitterness at the finish.
