Aroma of caramel, toffee and sweet malts. Taste is very malty with caramel leading the way. Creamy texture to go with a medium palate and a mild bitter finish. One of the better Vienna beers I’ve had. ebrowner88 (113), Rice, Minnesota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Apr 26, 2008 Pours deep gold/amber. Nose is malt and dark fruit (sweet). 1 finger head quickly leaves a heavy lace. Taste is malt. Not much sweetness, finish is silky smooth. Very interesting beer. Taste is complex but so so subtle. Moutfeel is warm and slightly dry. This beer could be easily drank by non-craft beer drinkers. For the price I will start keeping some in my fridge. Nate (2554), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Apr 16, 2008 Bottle courtesy of dpjuart. Light caramel aroma, decent malty profile with light fruity hoppiness. Mild diacetyl. Dark maple syrup amber clear, with thin foamy off-white lacing head. Medium watery body with medium carbonation. Starts a bit sweet, with light grainy malty character and some diacetyl. Light acidity, with carbonic tang and light nutty bitterness in the finish. Light bitter chalky after, very weak though. Not a bad beer, but just a bit too sweet in character. beoir (51), st paul, Minnesota, USA

Decent malt and little bit spicy aroma. Sugary toasty malt and a little bit of hoppy bitter in the finish. The alcohol shows through a lot more than it ever should in a 5.1%. Sticky thin body. scooterbub (382), Lander, Wyoming, USA

Kind of an artificial banana nose. A lot of sweetness, some brown sugar and a little bit of spice. A sweet caramel malty flavor. A hint of pears too. Decent body. Drinkable, but not a great beer. jde123 (715), Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 31, 2008 Bottle, came in s sampler pack. Pleasant aroma, nice ruddy body with a orangish foam - insulation-like head. Flavor is very smooth with a bit of a kick at the end, or a bite at the end, depending on your interpretation of the experience after you drink Firebrick for the first time. Me, I like to compare it to a bite. Hoppy, yes, malty, yes. Wein would be proud.
