Commercial Description:
Schell’s Hefeweizen is made with 60% wheat malts and 40% barley malt. We use an authentic wheat beer yeast culture, which gives the beer a fruity ale character dominated by a citrus-like tartness. A slice of lemon is traditionally served with this type of wheat beer.
Ingredients: 60% Wheat and 40% Pale malts, domestic Cascade, and Mt. Hood hops.

Hazy gold color with a thin head. Big banana aroma and a bit of yeast. Strong wheat flavor. Definitely some citrus and banana. Not world class, but perfectly solid.

Pours a light hazy gold with a smallish head. Aroma of banana, spices, a bit of lemon. Light sweetness, more of the spices come through. Solid.

yep, found it after i failed to remember to look for it the last few weeks. Grabbed a sixer. Somehow I had never tired this ( hard to find i guess. Very fruity/banana aroma in this one. Color is cloudy light yellow/oragne. I’m a big fan of this. Seems to have more pronounced flavor than most i’ve had and NOT overcarbonated at all. Very very tasty hefe!

Finally found a sixer of this, fairly hard to come by in the Twin Cities it seems! Nice, slight banana aroma, followed by some spice and coriander? Not overally sweet, with a slightly fruity finish. Very smooth, easy on the pallte summer brew. One of the best Hefe’s I have ever had.

Poured a partially cloudy golden colour with a small, barely noticeable white head. Aroma is rather lifeless, faint banana with subtle hints of citrus fruit. Taste is soft, light and not too wheaty with sporatic notes of spice.

On tap at KJ’s party. Pours cloudy gold with an enormous white head that cannot be contained by plastic Schell’s sampling cups. A very surprisingly competent banana aroma and flavor. This is a very thick and delicious hefe that I would drink again on tap. Nice lemon notes to the finish. What’s up with Schell making such good beer lately?

a nice summer beer...pours cloudy yellow with small white head..aroma huge in banana, spice, light wheat, and a touch of yeast..pretty basic hefe flavor, yet packs more of a banana punch than most others....touches of clove to complement the wheat backbone..not bad
