Gunk on bottom of bottle, lots. Beautiful swirling unfiltered wheat beer pour. Nice wheat beer aroma, very attractive. Very light pale yellow orange haze and a small surrounding thin white girdle for a head. Fun and nice immediate palate, bubbly fresh and hefey! Spicy and delicious, spices do not overwhelm. Very good hefe experience. There is a developing attempt to be bitter, but the manners of this brew never lets it get there. No bitter aftertaste on the finish. Just what I expect from schell, quality beer. Not disappointed. Much better than troeg’s dream weaver. Almost as good as Erdinger Weissbier (Hefe-Weizen)!

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 15, 2007 Cloudy straw color, briefly maintains 1/2" of white head, then just a bubbly ring. No real lacing. Prominent sweet banana in the aroma - even from a distance. A hint of clove when you look for it.
Tangy wheat, with a little sweet-tart lemon pie filling flavor. Not quite medium body, very mild (lacking) carbonation. Citrus tang in the aftertaste. heemer77 (4311), Savannah, Missouri, USA

One of Schell’s best efforts. Poured with a fairly hazy light yellow body and a thin white head. The aroma has a little bit of bananas and clove. There is even a hint of mango. The taste is sweet with banana and a little bit of citrus. A very mild orange taste in the finish. There is a hint of the clove spice. This is interesting, like a good cross between a German style Hefe Weizen and an American wheat. MoreHead (355), Minnetonka, Minnesota, USA

The fruity character was bolstered by a banana-like taste which really puts this one on top. No bitter aftertaste like a lot of Hefe’s. I’d take this one over any of the big European Hefe’s any day.
