Commercial Description:
A shining example of the true European Pilsner style beer, Schell's Pilsner is brewed with 100 percent barley malt, where the imported German Hallertau hops flavor is showcased. Its full hop characteristic and delicate aroma were developed in Pilsn, Czechoslavakia around 1840. This style was widely copied by early American breweries. Over the years, however, it has been lost to the much lighter-bodied, low-hopped relatives we refer to as American "Premium" beer.
Schell's Pilsner has won many awards, including medals from the prestigious Great American Beer Festival.
Ingredients: 100% Pale malt, domestic Cascade, and imported Hallertau hops.

Bottle. did not pour it into glass. I bet it was clear gold. Flavor was great, actually. Very well balanced malt and hop character with a very nice crisp finish. Easy to drink, but has great body for a pilsner too. A pleasant surprise.

12 oz. bottle shared at monthly Home Brew Club. pours a thin off white head, of poor duration, over a pale yellow (SRM 3) slightly hazy body....nose is light cereal, bit of light toffee, slightly sharp hop spice.....taste is light malts to start, ending in a mild bitter hop finish.....mouth feel is light, as is carbonation. This does not have enough character, either in the malts or the hops. I wonder if the bottle was too old.

Decent, straw colored pilsner. Better than most but not the most exciting beer ever. Good for the old boys club up at deer camp.

I’ve had a sorted history with this beer, but I’ve got to say I quite like it at the end of the day. The beer pours a golden color with a small head that retains with the best of them; the beer has a good lace and lots of bubbles! The aroma is kind of faint but nice enough with some fresh hay and fresh bread with some light fruity hops. The flavor is hoppy and bitter in a herbal way, there is a defined saltiness and quite a bit of bitterness with some mild bready maltiness.

Bottle, poured up with a rich, white creamy head. Brilliant light gold color. Hop bitterness is very crisp and true to style. I found a very metallic aroma that was a bit distracting. Other than that, the malt, hop balance was right on and this one was good.

Pours a dark yellow color with a two finger, white head. Somewhat fruity nose. Fruity and slightly bitter taste. Decent overall beer.

Pours golden with a thick vanishing head very carbonated. Nice and crisp good light hop taste and bite. Smooth balanced with a good bitter aftertaste.

Pours a light golden color w/ white head. Aroma of sweet fruity malt, corn, floral hops. Pleasantly surprised at first taste. Nice body, good dry hop bite, clean aftertaste, minimal sweetness...aroma smells sweeter than the taste. I think this is a great representation of the style...it’s a very basic pilsener, but it’s done right. To sum up: clean, dry, refreshing, enjoyable.
