Bread and lagery aroma. Lighter side of medium bodied, with a smooth and clean texture. Flavor of dark bread, caramel, rye, and perhaps a hint of tobacco. Not bad at all undsioux7 (561), Cologne, Minnesota, USA

Aroma of caramel, bread, spice. Taste is pretty much the same with a hint of bitter chocolate. Good stuff. tennisjoel (951), Shakopee, Minnesota, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 17, 2008 Pour is auburn red. Small head which mostly disappears after settling. Aromas of bread yeast, spices, cookies. Flavor features a touch of bitterness, especially in the finish. To me, this has some similarities to Boulevard Bobs Munich lager, which I consider to be very good within the Vienna style. Solid effort from Schell, who I have been quite impressed with, based on their latest efforts. bluemooner (237), Blaine, Minnesota, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 15, 2008 Pours a very deep amber with a medium white head. As the description depicts, this beers somewhat complex flavor includes hints of sourdough, giving a bit of an original flavor for me. Also tastes of malt, chocolate, and a fair amount of hops for medium bitterness. A pretty good beer overall. fidelis83 (729), Clinton, Iowa, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 12, 2008 Updated: Dec 15, 2008Wow, only the 10th rater, I think thats my lowest number ever. I just finished a Firebrick...not impressed, lets see if they did a little better with the second Vienna from the same mix-pack. Pours medium burnt orange with a 1 finger dark beige head. Aroma is nice, walnuts, toffee, toasted yeasty bread and a really bright grainy note that must be the rye. Flavor is very nice, crusty french bread, a touch of baking cocoa, grainy malts, a really nice spicy, herbal middle that extends to the finish when the bitter hops come in and make a pretty good showing with a little citrus. All in all not bad at all. BustedFlat (554), Edina, Minnesota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 9, 2008 Deep amber in color. Roast malt aroma. There is a big toasted malt taste up front with some caramel and rye. Some nutty notes as well. Some bitterness as it warms. Another good effort, but I liked last years brew just a tad better.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 8, 2008 Updated: Jan 6, 2009bottle. Pours dark amber with a white head. The aroma contains some toasted malt, rye, bread, chocolate, and a bit of ketchup as well. The taste is predominately chocolate, but there is a bit of caramel and raisin as well, which then switches to a lightly bitter and bready finish that is considerably dry. This is a pretty simple beer, but that does not make it any less sessionable. grimreeser (797), Minnesota, USA
