Clear, vibrant amber with a thin, but persistent, light tan head. Signature Schlafly malt sweetness in the aroma, along with some fruitiness, freshly baked bread and faint hops. Flavor is smooth and rounded, with a fair balance of sweet, fruity malt and citric, flowery hop bitterness. There’s a solid backbone of bready malt holding it all up, with a ghost-like suggestion of caramel. While the malt edges out the hops for the first two-thirds of each sip, the hop bitterness finishes it out cleanly. Body is a bit watery and low on carbonation, but those only add to it’s drinkability. This brew isn’t anything spectacular, but it’s a solid, flavorful session brew that I would have no problem sticking with all night. igneous1 (1374), Davenport, Iowa, USA

The aroma is pleasant, but where's the malt? Clean bitter flavours with some rind and more pine. I enjoyed this beer, but it was missing the malt that makes Schlafly beers so good. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 20, 2003 This rating was from the Hop In The City event where brews from the previous year were sampled (5 oz) by the attendees from kegs. This brew poured a small head of mostly diminishing off-white colored large sized bubbles that left behind a transparent uncarbonated light brown colored body. The aroma was mildly malted and the mouthfeel was slightly biting. The only flavor I got from it was that of the hops. MaxPower (961), St. Louis, Missouri, USA

Bready and caramel aromas, starts sweet and creamy with a hint of caramel, medium bodied, nice full and round mouthfeel, finishes smooth and clean with a lingering sweetness, not bad.
