This brew poured a small head of mostly diminishing off-white colored large sized bubbles that left behind a transparent uncarbonated light brown colored body. The aroma was mildly malted and the mouthfeel was slightly biting. The only flavor I got from it was that of the hops. hotstuff (3183), Indiana, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Oct 27, 2007 Pours copper with a tight white head. The aroma has caramel that is rich and malty as well as being quite smooth. The body is thin and metallic with sharp carbonation. The taste has some of the caramel, but that is eclipsed by tinny sharp fruits. This one was not enjoyable to me at all. thegreenrooster (1852), St.louis, Missouri, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 16, 2006 Pour is a bright golden with a nice size white head. Aroma is very much malts and a slight touch of hops. Hops are more pronounced in the flavor but the malts show up with a nice bready taste. Above par. jpm30 (1588), East Central, Georgia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 30, 2007 Clear reddish copper appearance, stiff off-white head with good retentive powers, slowly dissipated into thin lacing, light amount of ringed sticking.
Smoky grains, toasted caramel malts and herbal hops are very prevalent in the aroma. A subtle orange and lemon fruitiness in the background.
Velvety, but firm moderate body, a touch of herbal oily slickness in the palate. Toasted grains and sweet caramelized malts along with a slight touch of smoke. Orange and lemon fruitiness emerges in the middle, adding a sweet and sour effect in the taste. The earthy leafiness and herbal hop spiciness helped to give this a great dry finish.
This was quite pleasant on a cool night in the River City, robust enough to chase away any chills. On-tap at the Taproom.

The aroma is pleasant, but where's the malt? Clean bitter flavours with some rind and more pine. I enjoyed this beer, but it was missing the malt that makes Schlafly beers so good. igneous1 (1374), Davenport, Iowa, USA
