Dark nut brown color, good creamy beige head. A bit nutty, hoppy and caramelly nose. Slightly fizzy. Caramelly, light hoppy notes. Slick short finish. Quite typical brown ale. Tmoney99 (4798), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Poured a hazy brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted malt, nut and earthy hop aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and lively carbonation. Solid toasted bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration.
Good complex brew. Braudog (3782), Dayton, Ohio, USA

Nuttily bitter, tightly wrapped in a smooth, drinkable brew. Light body and mildly carameled. (#3360, 3/29/2008) FatPhil (3483), Espoo, Finland

Roast stale coffee. And I mean really stale. Indistinct roastiness in the aroma too. Lively carbonation. Fits the brown ale style pretty well with plenty of roasty malty body. Some smokiness too. Very tasty. Miksu (2241), Jyväskylä, Finland

Chocolatey, nutty, toasty and slightly coffeish aroma. The flavor follows the aroma with medium to firm bitterness. Slightly astringent nutty and chocolatey finish. Burps american hops (centennial?) but does not otherwise have a lot of hop aroma or flavor. The aroma and finish is better than the middle part. vyvvy (2068), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 6, 2007 On tap at the brewpub. Pours brown with a reddish hue. The aroma is nutty with toasted malt and coffee with some stale-ish notes. Medium body with soft carbonation. The taste is nutty and woody with toasted / roasted malt - a bit harsh and lightly sour. The finish goes heavy on the woody and coffee aspects and is quite bitter. A fairly aggressive version of a brown ale. Terminus (1955), Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA
