| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 18, 2008 Bottle dated 12/26/2007 - Hazy dirty brass to light copper pour. Dense rocky head that dissipates into a skim of bubbles hanging around to the bottom. Aroma is dusty and doughy with some hop spice & earthy notes in the background. Flavor is initially malty & bready that get overwhelmed by a solvent/turpentine bitterness and then finishes with a musty grassy note best described as "moldy basement." | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 17, 2008 12oz brown bottle served in a shaker pint. Bottled on 9/27/07 (a little over three months old). Lots of carbonation. Poured a hazy gold with a good two fingers of white bubbled head. Bottle conditioned?
Good citrusy hop aroma with a little hint of yeast. Creamy mouthfeel. Some caramelly malt to start off with followed by a solid American hop bitterness. Good balance, very drinkable beer. wickedpete (629), Lexington Park, Maryland, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jan 13, 2008 Updated: Jan 14, 2008Thanks to Vance for this one. A murky orange color with a thick cloudy head. Aroma is light, a bit of spicy, citrusy hops, plus some yeast. The body is amazingly pleasant. The flavor is quite smooth for a pale ale, not overly abrasive with bitterness. Good hops, a little biscuity. Very, very nice. KieferUGA (461), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 10, 2008 Bottled on October 17, 2007. Hazy golden pour with a medium sized, white head. Aroma of citrus hops with a bit of must in the background. Flavor is mainly sweet malts with slighty hoppy undertones. Finish doesn’t last too long, with lightly bitter notes. switzer (22), USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 6, 2007 Pours a dark gold with a lingering head. Smells of a citrusy aroma, and tastes the same. A bit grainy, but not enough to turn one away. Good, but for having "hopped" in the name, I’d expect this to be even hoppier. marchcow (664), Coralville, Iowa, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 24, 2007 Bright piney hopped citrus aroma. Golden yellow with a right foamy head of good duration. Flavor is bitter and haylike. Light wheat. Slightly creamy and mildly yeasty. Slight saltiness. Flavors improve as you drink on and become richer and more complex. Palate is fairly weak and flat. Bitter duration. Good initial aroma and appearance but the flavor and palate are weaker although not bad. Improves towards the end of the first bottle. natedoggkc (164), Lenexa, Kansas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 24, 2007 Pours a golden/orange color with nice full white head. Aroma is balanced with malty sweetness and hops on the piney side. The palate is on the hoppy side with the background of malt. The finish combines the two but it feels like they are fighting to be the front runner on the palate.
