Tasted at Schlafly tasting at the Lukas KCMO wine bar. This was a nice beer. From the initial aroma, you could tell this one was well hopped. Taste is hoppy, but a nice balance of malt in there as well. Some slight bitterness and sweetness in the finish. thefederalist (227), Jonesboro, Arkansas, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Mar 20, 2007 On tap at the brewpub. Poured light clear orange with an off white head. Aroma was sweet grapefruit with a moderate intensity. Flavor had some good grapefruit hop character to it, and bitter citrus notes. Was a little over carbonated. bethmatt0421 (321), Covington, Kentucky, USA

Not the best representative of an APA. Says ’dry hopped’, but its more ’dry flavored’. garrison (461), Cin. city, Ohio, USA

Tastewise, it’s a tad sweet for a pale ale, but it tastes good! markgugs (86), Wood Ridge, New Jersey, USA

A: Poured a purty copper orange. Decent head went away fairly fast, but leaves a nice oily lacing with each sip.
S: citric, floral aromas, very faint malt
T/M: Hops are right in your face with this beer. It’s explodes with very juicy bitter grapefruit hoppiness, decent toasted bread maltiness, and yet it isn’t balanced nearly as well as masters of this type of beer. Decent medium-bodied, slightly chewy at times. And leaves an oily, bitter, lingering finish. Decent.
D: Pretty easy to drink beer, the alcohol is medium at 5.5%, it’s a good representation of an APA. Suttree (2748), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 25, 2007 Bought as "Expedition Reserve". Clear copper, with a decent sized white head. Nice floral hoppy aroma, kind of a mix twixt resin and citrus. Full bodied, with earthy and floral flavors nicely mixed. A touch of caramell and toffee balance out the bitter.
