Aroma has pleasant floral hops and some caramel malt. The beer has a medium body with mild carbonation. Taste has what the aroma had - floral hops and caramel malts - very smooth taste. The finish is much sharper citrus, a mix between grapefruit and lemon. The finish has almost a prickly mouthfeel between the citrus and carbonation. The finish continues to get sharper further down the glass. This has the hops of APAs, but there seems to be more malt than most to balance things out. Nice interpretation of the style. (7/3/7/3/15 - 3.5) <P> Rerate notes: Previous rating is for the expedition APA. The dry hopped seems to be very reformulated. Appearance is now more cloudy and the head sticks around better. Aroma is now more hop heavy with tropical and funky hops along with some fruitiness. The beer is now crisper with more assertive carbonation. The taste leans towards the hops of the aroma for the new version, but there is still some grapefruit and lemon. This has climbed up the latter of APAs for me the last few months and is a great go to beer in the St. Louis area. Excellent APA. 11026 (1779), Alabama, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 15, 2006 Bottle from TannerTavernboys. A clear, light amber color with some golden streaks to it. Great white head which leaves very nice lacing behind. Aroma is a bit funky/catty, perhaps herbal. Medium bodied with nice carbonation. Balance well in flavor. Fair biscuit and caramel along with a more herbal/earthy hop bitterness. Nicely done. rdawson321 (145), USA

Bottle labeled ’brewed with love on Sep 13 2006’. Poured a darker amber color with a large sized off white head. Aromas of toasted malts, citrus, and light caramel. Tastes of caramel, oranges, and light grapefruit. Strykzone (1497), Wood River, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Mar 11, 2006 This was found to be quite a nice beer. Plenty citursy fruit in the aroma and in the flavor. Grapefruit was most evident but it was balanced with sweeter fruit. A distinct bitterness was also laying under the citrus. A nice effort by a top brewer. BillyM (149), St. Louis, Missouri, USA

It’s got a good clean and hoppy taste with a citrusy influence and well balanced malt infusion. Good session beer, as it starts and finishes pretty clean and light. Nothing to blow you away, but it’s better than the over-marketed Pale Ale (in my humble opinion).
NOTE: Due to the freshness (living in STL), I initiated my new kegerator with this brew & it has been well liked by many friends (most of whom aren’t into good beers.) Cornfield (4972), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 24, 2006 An enjoyable APA filled with citric scents and flavors. Bright orange with a creamy head, the aroma is a caramel malt liberally spiced with an orange hoppiness aided by a small squirt of grapefruit and a twist of lemon zest. The initial taste is like biting into an orange, but the sweet malt soon emerges followed by a nibble of tangerine. The finish is mildly bitter. Quite refreshing.
