| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 19, 2009 Draft at the brewpub. Fruit, yeast and malt in the aroma, with suggestions of pear, banana, yeast dough and spice, pepper, faint citrus, coriander and some light sweetness in the background. Hazy light-medium golden color, head is fine and slight. Flavor profile is lightly tart, fruity, gently bitter and sweet, with mild spice and citrus, showing some faintly lingering herbal hop tones late. Very gently acidic and light on the palate, moderate carbonation and a medium body. Fairly interesting; balanced. Narnad (692), Wonder Lake, Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 9, 2009 Arrived to the table golden with a frothy white head and had a moderate carbonation. Aroma is clove spicy with light banana and wheat. Flavor has a banana yeasty flavor up front, some noble hops characteristics, slight wheat flavor with a great creamy, sour ending. Beer carries a great lacing and overall is definitely a well done beer worth a look. *note - Beer is listed on the Schlafly Tap Room board only as "Singel" vyvvy (2043), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 17, 2009 Holy crap, Andy and I have about the same numbers for a beer. Pours light clear yellow with a fluffy white head. The aroma has mild esters, Belgium yeast, light huskiness and only a hint of toasted malt. Light crisp body that’s a bit rough with mild sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with a pils-ish maltiness, husky graininess, hint of Belgian yeast, some astringency and it is missing the esters on the aroma. The finish has some spice and a mild hop kick. Very nice beer. I sure hope this is brewed more often. There aren’t enough Belgian Single being brewed. dm9831 (1167), Monee, Illinois, USA
