Clear amber color, small white head. Caramel, cheese, mild hops in the nose. Alcohol, hops backed with caramel maltyness. Not really biere de garde, more like "imperial amber ale": Balanced. MrRain (439), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA

SBdG pours orange-colored with a large semi-creamy head that lingers. It has a sweet aroma reminiscent of bubble gum. There is also a faint smell of cloves. The well-carbonated body is surprisingly refreshing without being watery. This beer is tart and has a grass and honey taste. The finish is also tart. The high carbonation of this beer is a nice change without being overwhelming. curly (767), Nashville, Tennessee, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 18, 2009 Very fresh aroma, more herbal than floral. Poured with a nice foamy white head and golden color shown through the glass. Very pleasant flavor with nothing overwhelming and not an exceptionally long after taste. Very good overall.
