Indra (2023), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA Mar 19, 2009 Draft at the brewpub. Sweet, malty, bready aroma, with notes of toffee and cocoa, along with lighter touches of cinnamon and fruitiness. Deep, dark amber color, clear, with a fine, lasting head. Flavor is predominantly sweet and malty, more gentle fruit in the background, along with nutty, toffeeish, chocolate malts and a mild hop addition late. Bitterness is negligible. Lingering caramel tones. Smooth, easy-going palate, body is light-medium. True to style and tasty. Narnad (682), Wonder Lake, Illinois, USA Mar 9, 2009 Back on tap starting Feb 13 (listed on website as well). Had this beer on tap at the St. Louis Tap Room downtown. Ruby-brown color, low carbonation, thin film head and the beer left great lacing. Aroma is semi-fruity of apple, caramel malt, grassy hops and has a faint alcohol aroma. Flavor is grassy hops upfront and moves into a nice sweet middle with caramel hints and finishes with a smooth alcohol and roasted malt finish. Overall a great beer and one I wish they would brew up for distribution. madscotsman (147), Fairview Heights, Illinois, USA Sep 23, 2007 Had a dark copper color with an off white head. Had a sweet malty aroma. Very little carbonation with a bitterness in the finish kwoeltje (1313), Manchester, Missouri, USA May 11, 2007 (draught at the St. Louis Brewers Heritage Festival) Copper with off white head, nice lace. Sweetish malt aroms. Flaovr is toasted malt with some sweetness. vyvvy (2023), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA Feb 23, 2007 Pours clear bronze with a tan head. The aroma has musty dark toasted malt with some toffee. Medium body with light carbonation. The flavor starts with toasted malt that is fairly thin tasting - there are also some medicinal qualities. The finish is metallic and sour. I don’t think I’ll be having this one again. SubstanceT (1090), Saint Louis, Missouri, USA Jan 30, 2007 #1006, on tap at the brewery on 1/28/2007. Dark brown, clear with no carbonation and clear. Very slim white head that is quickly discipating. The nose has lots of cream and yeast with some hints of grains. Taste has some yeast with more dark skins and malts roasted in and out. Reasonable alcohol presence. Very drinkable and spot on for the style.
