This mother of a beer poured blacker than black with a huge dark brown frothy head. Aromas are out of this world! Strong burbon, roasted malts, dark chocolate, fresh ground coffee, and nice oak hints to the nose. Flavor is very well rounded and complete throughout. Right away you get a nice coffee/roasted malt hit followed right by warming burbon. The finish is oaky and chocolatly. I loved this one so much that I drank the whole 750 my self. The flavors from the barrel really came through to turn this impy into a stellar one. Agaguk (120), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada

Bourbon and whiskey dominate the aroma and at first drink your pallet is killed by the whiskey alcohol flavor. That fades though into a roasted malt deliciousness with some chocolate as well. Would love to try this with a couple of years of cellaring. Nice smoky flavor profile as well. mcox90 (649), Wilton, USA

Not much of a head/lacing. Typical Imperial Stout aromas, heavy malt, dark chocolate and a hint of whiskey. Heavy warming palate. Heavy malt and dark chocolate flavor, also some vanilla hints and of coarse, a hint of whiskey. Or I could be mistaking the heavy alcohol presence as whiskey. Either way, great Impy and a big thanks to Theisti for sending this one my way. french tickler (642), Aylmer, Quebec, Canada

Pyrozoid (352), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada

(4+) Sweet vanilla bourbon aroma is rich without being overpowering. (7+) Flavour has more sweet bourbony vanilla but its surprisingly balanced, sweet malt core mostly defers to the bourbon barrel overtones but makes its presence known at least, very light bitterness is variable. (8+) Smooth medium to full bodied palate. Rather good, one of the rare examples of barrel aging well executed. That said, I expect it is still best enjoyed in small portions. 2006 Vintage Bottle shared by Blankboy "Spud poops the bed." "Isn’t that an old kids book?"
