Commercial Description:
This full-bodied traditional English-style ale is brewed with a high gravity and extra hops, which originally helped to preserve the beer on long voyages from England to India.

This beer pours a mostly clear orange-amber color with a medium fluffy ivory white head that recedes steadily. Patches of lacing on the glass. Grapefruity hops in the nose with a touch of sweet malt. Medium body with a moderately bitter hops character. Features more grapefruit and a bit of caramel malt flavor. The finish is hoppy with a lingering citrusy aftertaste. Overall this is a pretty good straightforward IPA.

Pours light hazy amber with a decent sized white head. Aroma is citrusy hops and pale ale malts. Taste is malty and citrusy up front, with a big bitter finish. Very good.

Pours hazy, light amber with a nice white head. The aroma is citrus, especially grapefruit. The flavor is similar, herbaceous hops with a nice bitter finish. The beer is definitely balanced to the hoppy side. Overall good

12 oz. bottle. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a lasting medium sized fluffy off white head. The aroma has hints of grapefruit, grassy hops, and floral qualities as well, although nothing is too dominant. The flavor is heavy on the bitterness and it lingers well into the finish. Not as much grapefruit as the nose led me to believe. The malts do not stand up to the bitterness, but what is there is more bready and pale. The finish, in addition to being bitter, is dry. This is a decent IPA.

Seemingly "light" despite it’s 8% ABV. Grapefruit and maybe even some peach in there. I liked it a lot, just the way an IPA should be... refreshingly crisp and hoppy with a good punch.

Deep amber body with a very lightly peach tinted head. The aroma has some rich notes of grapefruit and roses. There is also a hint of musky perfume from the hops. The taste is rich with grpaefruit and some light bread crust. There is also a little bit of walnut. A nice IPA.

Bottle from River’s Bend. Poured a hazy deep amber with a large off-white head that lasted and produced good lacing. Good earthy hoppy aroma. Medium body with a slick texture. Moderate to heavy balanced hoppy flavor with a moderate smooth bitter finish of moderate duration. Good drinkable brew.

My favorite Schlafly. Don’t know why I haven’t rated this one yet. That’s how it is sometimes: ratings are not complete beasts. Many I have forgotten to do. Many I have forgotten about. Very solid IPA done English style.
