Commercial Description:
2004 Hops in the City festival beer. Fruity, spicy, aromas and flavors contribute to the complexity of this Belgian ale. Medium body and effervescence contribute to a light, dry impression, despite its substantial strength and sweet, smooth finish.

Noogfest High 5. Sample from a bottle thanks to Butters. Pale golden orange with a whitish head. Toasty caramel aroma, lightly spicy yeast notes, fruity esters. Taste is huge fruit up front, a sweet maltiness, light alcohol warmth.

750ml bottle @Noogfest High5 Thanks butters–pours a foamy white head that bubbles and gold color. Aroma is light/medium malt, light fruit, spice hops. Taste is light/medium malt, light fruit, spice/herbal hops with lots of bite. Dry.

This beer has a nice white head. It is strong in alchol content but, not over powering... it has some belgian flavors... but maintains a budwiser midwest ownership. A nice beer.. easy to drink...

Liquid Sunshine VII Tasting – Kirkland, WA
Aroma: Light Belgian yeast aroma this was missing the big Belgian nose needed.
Appearance: Amber in color, hazy with a thin head.
Flavor: Very light flavor. Fruity yes but the Belgian yeast flavor was light and very non existent. This beer had some issues.
Palate: Dry Off Finish, with a Good Mouthfeel.
Overall: A beer that just funked out after sitting for so long.

Thanks BVC! Somewhat barnyard aroma, wet goat (I think that’s what a wet goat smells like anyway). Hazy gold. Carbonic bite, creamy double-cream brie character, fruity esters of cherry and apricot. Welcomed funk.

Capped 750. Thanks, Theisti and BVC! Pours a hazy light amber with medium gold highlights. No real head or lace. Cream, green apples, and dust on the nose. Creamy medium body, some tanginess there, plenty of carbonation, and a little bit of funk on the mid-palate. Long tart finish.

Thanks Beastie. Golden orange color not much head, vigorous pour still fades fast. Interesting. Very different belgian style. Aroma Has a lit of citrus, almost sour. Some mellow spice and some fruit. Bubble gum and banana. Taste is similar. More alcohol in the flavor, and more spice and some citrus. As I drink this more I really don’t like it.

750ml bottle, obtained at the brewpub. Fruity, lightly tart aroma, full of doughy yeast and malt sweetness, with notes of green apple, white grape, citrus, cobweb, flowers, candle wax, dried herbs, mild peppery spice and even a bit of farminess. Clear light rosy amber color, with a lasting, fairly thick head of white and wisps of lace left behind. Flavor begins with a burst of tart citrus and fruit, quickly turning substantially bitter and spicy, finishing with a quick suggestion of toasty, honeyish, very lightly sweet malt flavor, musty, woody yeast and alcoholic tones. Substantially dry, effervescent, mildly warming and moderately acidic palate, body is pretty full. Quite different and unexpected; I can’t say I’ve had much that would be similar to it at all. Mostly enjoyable, though. Would likely be better taken in smaller quantities than an entire 750.
