JMerritt (1106), Macomb, Illinois, USA May 6, 2008 Labeled as "Schlafly Unfiltered Wheat Hefeweizen." Clear, dark yellow in color with a fluffy white head that is mostly lasting (*very* clear for a so-called unfiltered). Floral aroma, some clover and honey, with slightly sour wheat notes. Delicately carbonated. Mildly grainy flavor, delicate hints of banana. Overall, however, a rather bland hefe.
nqualls (201), Tennessee, USA Sep 2, 2008 Bottle. Poures a hazy pale yellow with a small white head. Aroma of wheat, banana and cloves. Flavor reflects the aroma. Good beer for a summer day, but not my favorite wheat ale. Not sure why all the ratings are so low though. Thaichile (594), 10aFly, New Jersey, USA Aug 16, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clearer, pale yellow with a suprising head. Nose is lightly sprinkled with banana and spice. The little hefeweizen that couldn’t most aptly describes this brew. It’s on it’s way, far from unpleasent, but just falls short. Good and refreshing for a hot summer day though. neo_hippie2 (119), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Aug 13, 2008 Bottle. I’m a bit suprised at the overall lower rating this beer received. Lots of wheat and malt on the nose. Good crisp mouthfeel with a smooth finish. Really solid wheat ale. Definitely worth a try. rkuhnel (1100), Eureka, California, USA Aug 11, 2008 Served on tap at the St. Louis brewpub, this poured a very light yellow with a small white head and very little lacing. Nose of wheat and malts. Light mouthfeel. Flavor is slightly sweet and there is not much finish. This is my least favorite beer from this brewer. kidmartinek (718), austin, Texas, USA Aug 9, 2008 Updated: Aug 10, 2008Clear average yellow color, tiny white head. Weak wheat malt aroma. Kinda smells like armpit too, not that I know what that smells like or anything. Taste is sweet and sugary malty wheat and a little salty. Carbonation is average. Taste is full. Body is medium. Aftertaste is clean and short and kinda skunky salty.
