| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Aug 20, 2009 Draft… Murky straw-colored ale with a mid-sized, smooth, white head. Great retention. The aroma is soapy with additional notes of banana, clove and lemon peel. Medium-bodied with a silky mouthfeel and gentle carbonation. Sweet, but not overly so, while providing essences of banana, apricot and clove. Spicy, lightly bitter, dry finish. hayduke (1655), Eureka, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 10, 2008 On tap at the St. Louis brewpub, this came a very cloud yellow with and nice white head and good sticky lacing. Good nose of wheat and banana. Smooth mouthfeel. Flavor is classic hefe with a malty finish. Very nicely done. kidmartinek (985), austin, Texas, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 10, 2008 Deep cloudy yellow. Respectable white head. Aroma of hickory and strong, pure grain amber wheat. The flavor is delicious and is like incredibly flavorful wheat malt with a hint of sugar and banana and clove. The beer is full and refreshing. The carbonation is medium high and enjoyable. It’ not over the top. The finish resembles woody resin and malt. skoisirius (580), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 12, 2008 On tap at the brewery. Pours a lovely hazed golden yellow with not too much head retention. Very banana aroma. Not as crisp of body as I dig on a Weiss, but great banana flavors, and tons of prominent clove spice in and through the finish. Overall a good attempt, but lacking a little German perfection. SkyinBrian (429), Collinsville, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 22, 2008 Having had their year-round bottled "hefeweizen" (a bland american wheat ale), I was very pleaset to see that at the taproom. This beer is everything that the similar named stand by is not -- a very nice hefe!
Lots of haze, plenty of carbonation, ample body, big banana and clove flavor and very refreshing! Gregis (1132), Shawnee, Kansas, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 7, 2007 On tap at the brewpub. A tight white head perched on top of a hazy straw body. The nose is of banana, cloves, wheat and soap. Light and lively it finishes mildly astringent. The flavor tastes like an odd blend of a German hefeweizen and a Belgian White: banana and cloves plus citrus a hint of something resembling coriander, although I doubt it’s actually used. I am a fan of wheats, but IMO this one comes across as trying to be too many things at once. mkofron (155), St. Louis, Missouri, USA
