troopie (484), USA Jun 14, 2008 Draught. Poured pale urine yellow with thin fast dissipating head. Aroma of sweat, maze and cardboard. Tastes like week old rusks left to gather moisture. No finish.
arobe35 (20), Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA Sep 7, 2008 I picked up a case of Schlitz by default (nothing else available) after Hurricane Gustav. I must say i’m slightly impressed with the overall drinkability of this brew for the low price ($12.99 for a 24 pack). Comparable in price to Natty, but this beer stands out from its competitors by all means. This may be my new every night drinker. kidmartinek (724), austin, Texas, USA Sep 7, 2008 Pours pale golden yellow with a 1 inch white head that last only a minute. The beer exhibits good bubbling throughout the time it takes you to enjoy it. Aroma is very hoppy and sharp. The flavor is lively, carbonated, and hoppy with a malt finish. It’s an easy beer to drink. It has a lot of flavor for a pale lager. Full bodied too and no adjunct taste present. This original formula make it no wonder this was once one of the best beers in the world. Only thing is, beware, this stuff works, and its not from the malt or the hops. Do you know the secret ingredients to the new Schlitz? danulls19 (2), , Minnesota, USA does not count Sep 5, 2008 Excellent. This is a great american lager. The name has become synonymous with cheap beer, but that is no longer the case. This beer is selling out in Milwaukee and its not just because of the pride. The overall rating of this is unfair since Schlitz just returned to the original 1970’s formula. I drank a PBR right after one of these and this blew it away. drpimento (499), La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA Sep 4, 2008 this is the new incarnation! Just picked up in Milwaukee. Label doesn’t say who’s really brewing it. Reminds me of the last version of about 8 or 9 years ago. Has a floral hop character with significant malt. Good for kickin back. It’s the Schlitz! I’ll drink more. NyBob85 (5), Flushing, New York, USA does not count Sep 1, 2008 Not as bad as I thought it would be. Pours golden with strong and sweet malt taste but otherwise watery and unremarkable. A decent beer for the price, regardless.
