Commercial Description:
Doppelbock Dunkel has a pleasant full and creamy body, with coffeeish aroma. Nicely warming with toffeelike malty sweetness, balanced by a hoppy-bitterness in the finish.

330cL bottle Venice, Italy. Amber body, creamy offwhite head. Aroma rich with burnt toffee, milk chocolate, cafe au lait and dried fruit undertones. Thick texture, balanced well with bitterness, moderate carbonation. Plenty of toffee and biscuity malt on the body. Hints of roasted malt and raisins. Finishes reasonably bitter, lingering dried fruit. Very nice, maybe didn’t enjoy it as much as the Urbock though.

Amber brown, thin beige head, light lacing. Aroma is malty, chocolate and caramel, brown sugar, molasses. Flavour is malty and sweet, caramel, light chocolate and a splash of alcohol. Sweet mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes long, sweet, warming.

Not bad but seems a bit on the light side at times. Alcohol is fairly well hidden.

330ml bottle from the LCBO in Peterborough, Ontario.
Opened on January 10, 2009.
Best before February 2010.

great stinging alcohol flavor that really dries out you mouth. This tastes like a beer with a higher ABV. Really malty and thick, but not as sweet as you’d expect, almost salty. Bottle from Crown Wine and Spirits, Miami.

(bottle - 330 ml) Dark brown color with a thin off-white head. Aroma is sweet with a lot of caramel and vegetable notes. Flavor is the same. Rather sweet at the beginning with a good amount of caramel malt and toffee. Finishes dry and lightly bitter with a hint of the same caramel malts. Alcohol is very warming.

Bottled. Dark amber. Clear. Small light brown head. Fruits, light caramel, light herbs, light roast in the aroma. Flavour is light alcoholic, fruity, sweet, caramelly and a bit grassy. Medium bodied. Ends on a sweet and fruity note. Is warming on palate and lips. Is a bit bland and uninteresing.
