Commercial Description:
Doppelbock Dunkel has a pleasant full and creamy body, with coffeeish aroma. Nicely warming with toffeelike malty sweetness, balanced by a hoppy-bitterness in the finish.

Bottle. Moderate dark bread and toasted for the malts, very light herbs for the hops, light earth for the yeast, with raisin, allspice and barbeque sauce in the background. Head is fizzy, off-white, with no lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is clear dark brown. Flavor is moderately sweet and lightly acidic to start, then finishes lightly sweet, acidic and bitter. Palate is medium, watery, almost oily, and has a lively carbonation. The BBQ aspect of this Dopplebock is quite unique.

Mild molasses and caramel flavor. Very small head with virtually no lacing. Dark reddish amber clear color. A little bitter and dry in the flavor. Watery texture and weak on carbonation. Drinkable.

Textbook doppelbock nose, slightly musty(in a good way) and malty, with hints of caramel and coffee. Flavor is rich, but mild with nutty hints of toffee and dark fruits. This is very good, balanced and the alcohol is well masked and not overly sweet.

11.2 oz. bottle. Pours an opaque dark brown color with a light, off-white-tannish head. Primarily a malt and caramel aroma, notes of toffee and molasses with a bitter finish. Medium-bodied. Pretty good brew.

Pours an unclear red brown with medium sudsy off-white head. Great Eggenberg aroma, very rich and malty, toffee and cherry, some esters and alcohol too. A very sweet doppelbock that finishes off-dry. Rich caramel, molasses, woody, toffee, some cherry, warming alcohol. Finishes with a touch of burnt malt, raisins and alcohol. Medium body, a bit sticky, well carbonated. Very tasty!

(Austria) Pours a nice ruby brown color with a sm white head. The aroma is of malts, and dry fruit. The taste has a toffee, raisin, and slight alcohol flavor !! The mouthfeel is kind of dry and bitter. This dopplebock is yummy, and very enjoyable.
