Commercial Description:
Doppelbock Dunkel has a pleasant full and creamy body, with coffeeish aroma. Nicely warming with toffeelike malty sweetness, balanced by a hoppy-bitterness in the finish.

Courtesy of Yespr. The color is beautiful red-brown and the head is creamy, but shot lived. The aroma has sweetness and notes of candy sugar and malt. The flavour has sweetness, notes of grapefruit, alcohol, candy sugar and roasted malt. It’s edgy and the alcohol is too dominant in the flavour.

11.2oz bottle-pours a pours a disappearing white head and deep red/mahogany color. Aroma is dark malt, earthy, dark fruit-prune. Taste upfront is lots of carbonation, some alcohol. Then dark malt-molasses, earthy, dark fruit-prune/raisins, some spicy hops. Occasional. Thanks to Joe-jwc215 for picking this out.

Bottle from Party Source. Poured clear brown color with an average off-white head that diminished slowly with good lacing. Good caramel toasted dark fruit aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture and soft carbonation. Good balanced sweet malty flavor with a moderate smooth balanced finish of moderate duration. Good doppelbock.

pours like a weak coffee and smells similar to that, i might notice a little hop smell also. The flavor is fully malts all the way, alcohol not up front and the body is pretty light and a bitter finish to top it off. This is well rounded, and very drinkable.

Reddish brown with a small off-white head. Weak aroma dominated by bready malt. Sweet and alcoholic with bready and dark sugar flavours. Less pleasant husky dry finish.

Bottle. Small tan head that quickly dissipated, very little lacing, transparent, fast-rising carbonation, and a reddish brown hue. The nose was malt, some toffee, sugar, sweet, but I did not detect any "coffeeish" aroma as was stated on the label. The flavor was malt, toffee, sweet, some hops, and dry. The mouthfeel was lightly tingly and this beer was medium in body. Easy to drink as the ABV was well masked, worthy of a try, but I would immensely like to have this on draft because I don’t feel the bottle version does this beer justice given the style. It was somewhat lacking in flavor IMO. This is one of my favorite styles, and it left me somewhat disappointed.

Bottle. Pours deep red/brown with a thin beige head. Sweet malt aroma with caramel and light fruit. Medium/full body. Flavor is again sweet malt with caramel and brown sugar. Hops are noticeable in a rather short finish.
