| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 20, 2008 Pours a clear red-hued brown colour with a microbubble tan head that fades quickly and leaves no lacing. It has a typical earthy nose of caramel, old coffee, jagery, dust and vegetable sweetness. The flavour is richly malty with a notes of toffee, roasted malt, molasses, sugar cane and a very subtle aromatic hop bitterness. The mouthfeel is truly creamy and finely carbonated, leaving a slick finish. The booze is hidden incredibly well. pnista (1008), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 16, 2008 Pours a clear reddish cola brown with a fine light tan head, thin bubbled, slightly heterogeneous. the nose is of slightly skunked hops? Didn’t expect that... Some light dark malt character. A bit sweet, with suggestions of coffee grounds and turbinado sugar. Very light and airy, the skunked hop aroma fades with time. Some dust. Smooth creamy mouth with rather small bubbles. Rather sweeter than I figured from the nose. A bit of roast, perhaps coffee grounds again. Again, turbinado sugar, a hint of molasses. Alcohol pops up. Something a bit empty in this beer. A bit herbal in the alcoholic finish. kp (8396), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

Appearance: Brown with light accent , medium thin top shown. Rocky tanned head. Nose : Rich , fruity aroma with dry hop character. Brown malts spread with plum sauce. Strong alcoholic accents come up as it warm up. Flavor/Palate : Strong mineral front almost metallic in character. Lighter malty notion sits in the midlle. Alcohol average for its style.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 22, 2008 Very excited to see this at my local store. Color is interesting, dark brownish black with red highlights. Thick head that quickly dissipates. Very nice aroma of coffee, raisins, cinnamon. Palate has a tiny off taste, maybe this is an old sample. Kind’ve an iron can taste. Also in there is a bit of hops, sweetness though the overall palate is a bit watery. Alcohol is well hidden. Palate improves as it warms, smooths out. Nice.
