Commercial Description:
Doppelbock Dunkel has a pleasant full and creamy body, with coffeeish aroma. Nicely warming with toffeelike malty sweetness, balanced by a hoppy-bitterness in the finish.

Appearance: Pours a clear, dark reddish-brown body with a small, eggshell-colored head. Smell: Sweetish aroma of toffee and fruity prune and sour cherry juice with a hint of roasted malt. Taste: Sweet maltiness and a taste of toffee-flavored coffee with the strong dark fruitiness jumping out at you. Very light touch of roast. Medium hop bitterness pre-finish. Some of the alcohol sneaks into the finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium carbonation. Slight stickiness to the mouthfeel. Drinkability: Their Schloss is my gain!

[bottle] Pours a dark brownish-red color, with a light tan head. Clean, malty aroma. Flavors are full of round, powerful malt character; very bready, with some nice residual sweetness. Finish is warming, very smooth.

33 cl. Dark red-brown with a three-finger head that lasts and leaves nice lacing. Spicy caramel, squash, and molasses aroma. Flavor is earthy-spicy molasses and honey, with some slight alcohol, spices, and roast coffee on the finish. Near-medium body is smooth and tingly, with a dry finish.

Bottle. Pours a dark mahogany body with a creamy white head. The aroma is very smoky along with toasted bread and butterscotch. Flavour is caramel and rye bread. Some faint hammy smoke lingers throughout. Pretty good.

There’s an iron aftertaste I pick up in this beer. It’s pretty uneventful for me. The head was weak. The aroma wasn’t really present. And the flavor was uneventful. I could stick a different label on the bottle and easily confuse it with domestics similar to taste. I wouldn’t pick it up again.

Thanks IPFreely. Brown, thin white head. Nose is caramel, butterscotch, raisin, honey & maple. Flavor is maple, caramel, bitter smoke, honey, very rich malt. Bitter but honey-esque finish.
