This beer is ruby-amber with a moderate beige head (receded, but didn’t disappear.) The aroma is quite malty, with suggestions of caramel, brown sugar, and dried dark fruit. The taste is quite sweet, and also contains the hint of dried fruit, and malt. The alcohol is well hidden, and there is very little bitterness. Medium body. bierkoning (6100), La Tropica, Netherlands

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 3, 2007 Deep dark color with a small frothy white head. Outstanding aroma, lots of sweet malt and rich berry/fig fruit. Nice malty taste, rather sweet, a bit thin. Not a terribly strong flavor. Finishes fairly bitter with lots of fig and a bit of chalkiness. Overall quite nice, nothing outstanding though.
