| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 15, 2007 Dark and has good aroma but it lacks a certain something. The palate also seems a touch thinner than it should, it has a nice body and flavor of caramel dark malts and fruits. Indra (2036), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 15, 2007 330ml bottle. Fully malty aroma, some dark, bready grain, roasty and full of chocolate, blended with notes of dried fruit, faint licorice and dark toffeeish sweetness, perhaps some latent yeast to be found, as well. Deep, dark brown-red color with a lasting, fine head. Malt utterly dominates the flavor profile as well, however there is some complexity to be found as well, amidst the dark, lightly burnt malt sugars, raisin and plum sweetness, spice cake, milky chocolate and anise, and with a long, gently smoky and very faintly alcoholic close. Smooth, creamy and expansive on the palate with a full body. Fairly elegant doppel. BDR (2167), Roseville, Minnesota, USA

Lots of carbonation. Sweet dark fruit aroma with lightly toasted malt. Alcohol dominates the body with candied fruits still there but the roasted malt dissipated into faint smoke. Watery. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 11, 2007 Nice pour, a deep garnet/caramel body with a sustained creamy head. The aroma is pretty darned sweet, roasted malts with candied fruits and alcohol. Fortunately, the sweetness is cut somewhat in the flavor, tempered by a light smoky earthiness. Pretty decent brew.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 9, 2007 Dark garnet chestnut color with a moderate head of old bone colored bubbles. Darkly toasted malts and rich dark fruit aromas. Very much a fruit cake scent. Seems thin from the start. Start is very weak, with a sweet tea resembles. Even the feel. Light malt give way to some more complex flavors mid quaff. Things happen really quickly, or perhaps better said this one seems to have a short attention span. The flavors pass quickly and that gives the appearance of being light and watery. Very easy to drink, I think this one could be guzzled quickly and aside from a quick buzz, little remembered. Finish has light alcohol and pepper flavor along with a touch of toasted malt. Quite dry in the linger with a herbal hops component and lightly roasted malt clinging to the tongue and throat. A light bodied dopplebock. This is one of those dark strong lagers that could be enjoyed year around, even during the present heat wave. faroeviking (6122), BjórtjóđveldiđBjórheimBjórsins, Faroe Islands
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 22, 2007 Bottle. Pours a clear dark amber colour with a bubbly foamy light brown rather short lasting head. Quite sweet aroma of roasted caramel, dark fruits and alcohol. The flavour is quite sweet with roasted caramel, sweet dark fuits, , alcohol, bit roasty malt and a bitter sweet dry finish. Prost! Adenila (952), Denmark
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 7, 2007 The appearance amber with a small fast disappearing baige head. Very strong sweetmalty aroma with notes of honney and grain. The texture is thick and low carbonated. Flavor is quite strong and complex, bears a resemblance to whiskey, but sweeter. Its interesting, but too much alchohol and sweetness for me. georgekappus (296), Brookfield, Connecticut, USA

There is some carbonation that floats to the surface. Aroma of burnt caramel, molasses, hazelnut, raisins, and licorice. The beer was not too sweet in fact it was slightly bitter. You could taste the carbonation. The texture was somewhat thin for a doppelbock.
