Commercial Description:
Doppelbock Dunkel has a pleasant full and creamy body, with coffeeish aroma. Nicely warming with toffeelike malty sweetness, balanced by a hoppy-bitterness in the finish.

Bottle: Poured a clear deep burgundy color bock with a large creamy off-white head with great retention and good lacing. Aroma of creamy banana bread with light toffee notes. Taste is a great mix between some banana bread and caramel and toffee notes. Body is a bit thin or the style with great carbonation but alcohol is bit too hot. Very well done overall but some less apparent alcohol would have been even better.

Poured pitch black. Sweet malt aroma. Taste was a nice mix of sweet malt, dark fruit and licorice. Reminds me more of a Belgian double or quad.

Bottle. Pours a clear light brown with a medium off-white head. Malty aroma with some hop and tartness. Super malty flavor with a bit of hop, roastiness and some fruit. Solid d-bock.

341 mL bottle. Pours a reddish-brown with a faint white head. Aroma is of dark berries, very sweet. Flavour is surprisingly spicy at first, then subsides into a lingering fruity sweetness. Quite nice.

Thanks to JaBier for sharing a bottle. The beer is a dark reddish-brown color with a medium light brown head that dissipates quickly. Stringy lacing. Sweet malts and coffee in the nose. Medium, dry body with flavors of coffee, roasted malt and cocoa. The finish is slightly smoky with roasted malt and coffee left over. Solid all around, overall this was a step up from the only other Austrian beer I have tried to date, the Hirter Privat Pils

Pours a lovely ruby brown colour with a small but consistent off white head. Aroma: Nutty, malty, plum/dark fruit, caramel and candy too. Flavour: A prominent plum/prune flavour with a sticky and somewhat bitter finish. Interesting. Alcohol detected in the finish also.

330ml. dark brown syrupy/cola pour. light head that evaporated quickly. nose is sticky sweet dark malt. taste is fruity, cranberry juice and some sweet cola. figs, prunes, chocolate cherries. lighter body but quite sticky. a bit unbalanced, not as robust and clean as other doppels i like.

Shared with Pyrozoid. Dark amber/brown poor with a tiny beige head. Aromas of toffee, dates, prunes, sun dried raisins and brown sugar. Lack of body for an 11% brew, somewhat watery. Sweet palate with a malty, dry finish. Flavors of dark fruits and caramel. No obvious traces of alcohol...
