Commercial Description:

Bottled. Clear pale golden, rich but brief head. Concentrated grassy hop aroma along the lines of a richer south German pilsener. Hearty, buttery maltiness, solid fresh moutfeel, unusually richly hopped for an Austrian beer. Restrained malt sweetness. Pleasantly bitter finish. Thoroughly well made!

17 oz. brown, tall bottle. Freshness date of 02/2006 on back label. Still fairly fresh then. Apparently people don’t appreciate what it takes to brew a beer of this magnitude, judging by the low scores it has received. It is right exactly on the money, style wise. Poured out a bright, pale yellow color, with a frothy, sticky white head. Aromas are of fresh Pils malts, with some DMS from those malts. Slight, background earthy hops, but aromas are very subdued. Some aromas of Vienna malts as well. Thick mouthfeel, but actually a thin beer. Malty to a fault, followed by strong hop bitterness. Rich, earthy, and superb overall. You should really try to appreciate it for what it is. A world class Maibock.

500ml bottle. Golden-yellow color, more or less transparent. The aroma is fresh and sweet. The taste is sweet and malty as well, displaying a lot of classic bock qualities, but with a stronger hop backbone than most Heller-Bocks. Big and rich, with a slightly pungent sweetness that melds quite well with the alcohol and yeasty flavors. A great beer.

Pours a very clear pale golden with a medium white head. Lightly herbal, grassy nose with a touch of sweet wort. Flavor has notes of grain, grass, hay, bread, caramel and noble hops. Pleasantly sweet and malty. Has a definitive, ample (yet smooth) hop presence which balances out the flavor quite nicely. Ends with the slightest twinge of alcohol. Medium bodied with a very smooth and creamy texture and medium carbonation. No lacing but good head retention. I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would.

Bottle. Nice and tasty. Aroma is floral and spicy. Flavour has average duration, and it’s sweet, with light bitterness. Oily in the palate, and medium body. Yellow colour, with a frothy white head.

Light clear gold with a nice, clumpy head. Nose malty, vaguely hoppy. Nice flavor, a bit sweet and crisp, slightly citric, but predominantly very grassy. Decent hop bite at the end, well balanced by some bready malts.

Apple juice body with white foamy head that slowly disappears, leaving nice lacing. Aroma is sweet malty with some whiskeyness. Flavor is sweet malty and alcohol. No real bitterness, though a slight alcohol burn in the swallow. Decent body.
