Faint aromas of corn, hay, metal, and sugar. Flavor is light malt with a serious twang, almost skunky, but certainly sugary and corny. Cleans up bit in the finish with very little aftertaste. Drinkable stuff, but not my favorite thing. henrikb (1303), Aarhus, Denmark
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Aug 5, 2007 Super clear golden body, foamy white head, fine lacing; Small not pleasant very sugary wort like aroma, special with a very little grass; Big carbonation in soft thin sugary body with actually a very, very little hopfen bitterness; A very little very plain hopfen bitterness in finish with metallic mineral aromas. Hopfenkonig what?, terrible and super boring beer. Mart (211), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 6, 2007 Bouteille. MacDaddyOJake (274), Richmond, Virginia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 17, 2007 This is one of the better pilsners that I have had. Nice malt flavor to it that wasn’t overbearing but wasn’t absent either like some of the other pilsners that I have had. Crisp finish with some hoppy flavors. The aftertaste was wonderful. Hard to describe but you can tell that this is a time-perfected recipe. The glass that I got with it (pictured) is made of crystal which really set this one off with some style points too! | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 17, 2007 Bottle from the importer. Light golden-yellow with a large, snow white head. Given the green bottle, I was expecting some skunk in the aroma, but it was actually quite clean and fresh, with soft malt and sharp herbal hop notes. Thin, crisp body. Flavour starts quite sweet, reminding me a bit of marshmallows, some notes of orange and honey, and a quick, herbal finish. A bit sweeter than I like from a pils, but otherwise, this is a pretty decent beer.
SilkTork (4184), Rochester, Kent, England
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 8, 2007 330ml bottle from BeersOfEurope. Crisp forced carbonation and a noticeable dry dusty bite in the finish. Salt lingers. Malt is fairly clean, with some biscuit notes. This is a dry, almost harsh beer. There’s nothing wrong with it, and for those who count a high level of bitterness to be a sign of quality, the hop extract used here will certainly persuade them they are dealing with a first class brew. I liked it. It’s clean, refreshing and has some flavour. 10 months to go before the BBE date, so fairly fresh - which may account for the hop bite.
