500 ml bottle. From Salzburg, Austria. Clear golden colour with small white head. Weak malty and hoppy aroma with metallic notes. Some malts and hops in flavour but only metallic notes. Crisp and well carbonated. But unfortunately nothing to justify the name Hopfenkönig.

Yellow body with lasting white head. Slightly sweet aroma with graasy notes. Taste is alright, bready and grassy, though it doesn’t stand out from other pilseners, probably need to try it real fresh but not sure it would make a lot of difference.

Served from a chilled 330ml bottle into a half pint pilsener glass. Bottle comes with a modern ring pull cap. Appearance: Golden and clear, with a fast fading head. Worryingly little carbonation. Aroma: Grassy hops, along with a slight metallic smell. Grainy wheat notes. Taste: Crisp and dry flavours. The hops are bitter and slightly grassy. The malts are very subtle and bready. There are certain flowery flavours as well. Mouthfeel: Light and crisp, however it is a bit too flat. Drinkability: Very drinkable pilsener, perfect served ice cold. Not impressed with the carbonation though, there should be more. The lack of carbonation might have been down to a bad bottle though, so I will be trying this again in the future, and re-reviewing.

Bottle sample at a tasting. Thanks Shachar. Clear golden with a small, quickly-diminishing, white head. Grainy cereals aroma with some veggies and some hoppy notes. Flavor starts sweetish and finishes bitter, hoppy and metallic. Light-bodied.

At a tasting, Thanks Shahar, Small head which stays for quite a while, light yellow and a little hazy colour, aromas of honey, spice and wax, Flavours of honey and barnyard with some coarse bitterness, extremely unbalanced.

Thanks Shahar, bright yellow with tiny disappearing head, aroma of yeast, grass and some vanilla tones - weak and flat, flavor is mainly bitter with some malt and herbs in between, body is quite watery. Not a good pilsener
