Pours clear golden with a fine, staying, frothy white head. Sweet corn aroma, light grass and a little citric. Light carbonation, a bit thin mouthfeel. Flavour is lightly hoppy, grassy and flowery on top of an okay, bready malts base. Okay. faroeviking (6126), BjórtjóðveldiðBjórheimBjórsins, Faroe Islands

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 21, 2009 Freshness is the key! This is a beer that MUST be kept from daylight at all costs. Equally good on draught and in bottles. You are presented with a bright golden color, like you see in well lit beer commercials. The head is persistent and leaves a nice lace on the glass. Not as one dimensionally bitter as many German style Pilsners I have had, it packs more floral aromas, spicy notes and is more complexly layered than its easy to chug nature implies. Be warned that in the US, if you are drinking this beer outside of Washinton DC or VA, you can not be assured of its freshness. It is only officially distributed in the immediate area. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 27, 2009 Updated: May 5, 2009Quite decent pilsener with aromas of sweet cookies and ginger. Tongue-tongling hop bitterness but nothing excessive, various notes of malt and fruits, somewhat pretty salty aftertaste, which makes it a tricky beer since your thirst’s always coming back. The mouthfeel seems a little oily to me. I’ll buy some more since european pilsners are hard to find in Québec’s imaginary country.
