Largely agree with yalnikim below, although no cardboard in mine, instead a lightly sulphurous note in the aroma. I thought it slightly above average, and would happily quaff a few of these at a party.

Tasted 20/08/2008. 330ml bottle from Beerstore. Pale yellow gold with a lacy white head. Herbal honey nose, with a hint of cardboard. Grainy malt flavour, just a hint of sweetness and a herb and grass middle-to-finish. Medium bitterness, with grassy notes lingering. Better than than the average supermarket pale lager... but only just. AVERAGE.

11.2oz bottle. Pours clear golden in color with thin white head. Aroma sweet, grainy and malty. Taste same as the aroma with dry finish.

33cl bottle with a pull tab cap thing. Clear straw with a white head. Sweet grain and grass nose. Flavor is the same, somewhat weak. Meh.

Of taps at Capital Ale House. Slight pale malt and rather metallic aroma. Clear light golden, bubbles streaming up the glass, small rocky white head. Looks delicious. Clean pale malt flavor with a bit of graininess and plenty of Czech hops. A metallic taste in the background that I have noted in other Eggenburger beers really detracts. Light body and mouthfeel with a dry and lightly bitter finish.

I thought that this pilsener was very tasty and sessionable. I don’t know why it got such low ratings but i enjoyed it.

Bottled 33cl. It pours a pale golden beer with a nicely lasting white head. Lively carbonation. The nose is musty, sulphury with notes of stale bread, vegetables, malt, lemon and hops. Oily. Sweet malty taste with notes of lemon. Low bitterness. Surprisingly full bodied for its style. Slight bitter finish.
