Jan 25, 2006 Hopfen Konig Pils pours to a very bright, pale golden color with a thick white head, and a good bit of carbonation. The clarity on this beer is beautiful, you can literally see right though this beer. The nose on this beer is fantastic. Very fragrant, zesty, herby/grassy hop aromas flood the nose. The palate is crisp and clean with good pilnser malt flavors on the tongue. The body on this beer is very smooth and round, making for a very drinkable beer. Hopfen Konig Pils finishes with good pilsner malt flavor up front, then finishes with a wonderful, snappy, herby/grassy hop bite that slightly lingers.
This is a well done example of German Pils from one of Austria’s best breweries. It has a wonderful crisp and clean malt palate, and of course those signature Saaz hop notes in aroma, flavor, and bitterness. This beer would make a wonderful aperitif beer to get the appetite going, and would pair well with sea food or foul dishes. I would match this beer with a nice grilled piece of fish with lemon pepper butter.

Feb 22, 2004 Draft at Capital Ale House, they even served it in the Eggenberg Pils stein. Clear gold, perfect white head, good lacing, helped along by being in correct glass. Grainy hoppy aroma. Strong hop flavor, floral with a bit of earth. Almost like digging in a garden. bit of a sour tang on the finish detracts a bit, but it is always nice to experience a really fresh pils.

Sep 12, 2001 Bright gold color and nice white head and generous lace. Clean and crisp as its 106F today, summer not over in Arizona, so this beer is quite welcome. Malt start, fine carbonation, nice hop presence, and a fine pilsner.

Apr 12, 2006 Golden with a slight edge due to carbonisation.Not too bad but it does distract from the enjoyment of drinking this one.Dry initial taste that leads to a gentle sweetness. Quite a reasonable pils with a classy label.
