Clear yellow, thick, snow white head, nice carbonation, good lacing. Malty corn flavor with lemon and honey at midpalate, dry grass finish. Refreshing and went well with schnitzel.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 18, 2009 Bottle. Pale golden pour with a short white head that doesn’t last long. Aroma is light, grainy and malty with hints of lemon and caramel. Flavour is about the same but stronger, plus there is a bit of extra citrusy hops. Good, solid body for the style with a dry mouthfeel and medium to long finish. Good pilsener and quite sessionable. cfrancis (331), Gloucester, Ontario, Canada
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Nov 16, 2009 Big time skumky aroma, pours a clear straw yellow with minimal white head. Taste is a crisp malt taste. Slight hop bitterness in the aftertaste. Travlr (746), Washington, Washington DC, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 20, 2009 Serving: Draft.
Appearance: Pale yellow color with a foamy, white head. Okay head retention and spotty lacing left behind.
Aroma: A bit of sweet grain and noble hops. Simple but okay.
Flavor: Palt malt sweetness on the tongue with a mild bitterness and a touch of honey. Subtle and nice.
Palate: Medium-high carbonation with a light mouthfeel and a medium, slightly bitter finish.
Overall: A decent pilsner that seems to keep things in balance. That being said, it lacks complexity and crispness. rosenbergh (915), Helsinki, Finland
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Oct 3, 2009 500 ml bottle. From Salzburg, Austria. Clear golden colour with small white head.
Weak malty and hoppy aroma with metallic notes. Some malts and hops in flavour but only metallic notes. Crisp and well carbonated. But unfortunately nothing to justify the name Hopfenkönig. bluevegie (2204), Perth, Australia
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 28, 2009 Yellow body with lasting white head. Slightly sweet aroma with graasy notes. Taste is alright, bready and grassy, though it doesn’t stand out from other pilseners, probably need to try it real fresh but not sure it would make a lot of difference.
