Sweet malty, caramel, honey and sugary taste without any notes of whiskey or smoke. Old Nessie was better. YK23 (271), Haifa, Israel

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 14, 2009 Pours an exceptionally clear amber body with redish highlights and a non-existant head. Nose shows trademark peated malt, albeit rather mild with some gritty, earthy honey. Palate has significant malt, which brings with it some honey sweetness. Peated malt pops up again and delivers more dry, earthy characters. Not bad, rather similar to innis & gunn oak aged. Choos (504), Taylors Hill, Australia
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jan 27, 2009 Aroma: light smoke lots of malt. Appearance: rose gold amber with a smallish quickly dissipating white head. Vanishing taste and the barest hint of smoke. Palate: thin. iammarc (193), Inverness, Scotland
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jan 12, 2009 bottle 33cl beers of europe. Great red body, good colour. However, a bit disappointed with the thin taste. Proclaims to be smoked but I couldn’t taste it. Not an overwhelming whisky taste even though you would expect it to. Honey notes but not much else. Not bad but not great... heavy (852), Split, Croatia
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 6, 2009 0.33 l bottle my mother brought from Linz, thanks! It poured golden copper body with small head. Interesting aroma, nice malty in a bit honey of flowery way, some peat. Light flavor, again, peat, flowery/honey malts, a bit dusty in that thin body. Shorter finish copies its flavor exactly. Nothing about wiskey here except that weak notes of peat. My second smoked and another non typical example, but an OK beer I would prefer over most of ordinary lagers. Doggythedog (1590), Split, Croatia
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jan 6, 2009 0.33l bottle, 5%, 12° (I decided to split the entries because the difference is huge), courtesy of and shared with heavy whose mother brought it from Austria (thanks!) Poured an orangey dark gold. Honey dominates the nose with just a touch of dusty hop. The taste is ol, some honeyish maltiness, a bit flowery. It’s an ok beer, but not much to do with the old one and even less with whiskey. tomer (380), Rishon Le Zion, Israel

Yeasty aroma with whiffs of smoked fish and wax. Aroma of honey with some biscuity notes and a touch of caramel, bitterness and light sweetness balancing each other. pleasant soury aftertaste. A nice suprise.
