Yeasty aroma with whiffs of smoked fish and wax. Aroma of honey with some biscuity notes and a touch of caramel, bitterness and light sweetness balancing each other. pleasant soury aftertaste. A nice suprise. YK23 (269), Haifa, Israel

Easy, thin smoked but a well-balanced beer. A little bit watery, I prefer more alcohol taste like old version...but it’s better than Adelscott beer from Heineken group. greig (171), Hamilton, New Zealand

I agree 100% with Yalnikim below, except I think it looks quite nice, hence the extra point for appearance, and I thought it quite weighty on the palate, which always gets an extra point from me!
Stu: Kindly stop going through the beer store a few days ahead of me! ;) davidm (160), Melbourne, Australia
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 21, 2009 Bottle 330ml. Interesting beer. Aromas of malty caramel, spices, and some smokiness. Flavour is sweet, with average duration. Watery in the palate, and thin-medium body. Dark yellow in the glass, bubbly, with a frothy head that lasts long. yalnikim (781), Wellington, New Zealand
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 24, 2008 Tasted 23/08/2008. 330ml bottle from Beerstore. Hmmm... not bad. Orange gold, disappearing head. Comes across as a slightly old Vienna (a little papery) with a whiff of that citrus that you pick up in the subtle Islays like Bowmore. Fritha likes it. Has potential but is a little oxidised. Quack-Duck (3214), Bodensee/Schwarzwald, Germany
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 22, 2008 bottle, ABV 5.0%. Clear amber-red colour, large and creamy head. Shy malty nose. Medium-bodied, fruity and malty with very shy whiskey flavours, and some very very shy smoke, nearly not smokey at all. Dry finish, which in combination with the malty middle part gives it a bitter-sweet character. Pleasant to drink. Chrism86 (278), Melbourne, Australia
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 14, 2009 Pours an exceptionally clear amber body with redish highlights and a non-existant head. Nose shows trademark peated malt, albeit rather mild with some gritty, earthy honey. Palate has significant malt, which brings with it some honey sweetness. Peated malt pops up again and delivers more dry, earthy characters. Not bad, rather similar to innis & gunn oak aged.
