Schloss Eggenberg MacQueens Nessie

Very sweet, slightly malty nose with hints of the alcohol. The color is orange and it has a small but very fast disappearing head. The flavor is malty sweet with notes of smoke and a little whisky - it even has a little burn on the back of the tongue as a whisky - quite unique. In the end it turns dry with a dominating note of wood. The palate is quite good. All in all a very interesting beer.

Orange coloured. Some sweetish smokiness in the nose, big nice malty body. A complex, unusual and tasty brew.

(Bottle 33 cl) Beers based on whisky-malt are mainly popular in France, but you do find the odd one elsewhere. Usually they have a pronounced smoked flavour. But not this one. "Nessie" is just alcoholic and bitter, like the typical strong lager. Full golden colour, nice, tall, creamy head, but looks doesn’t compensate for a very disappointing flavour. 090704

Some smokiness, but make no mistake, there is a substantial beer underneath, with lots of malt, a creamy body, and a good dash of alcoholic warmth in the finish.

33 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with creamy white head. Medium dry malt aroma. Flavour is mild hoppy to a malt flavour with light whiskey notes and mild fruit. Mild malt driven flavour into the finish.
