Commercial Description:
Samichlaus is brewed once a year on December 6, and is aged for 10 months before bottling. It is one of the rarest specialties in the world. Samichlaus may be aged in the bottle for many years to come, as older vintages become more complex. Brilliant deep amber, complex dry toasted malt nose and huge intensely sweet palate. The 2007 bottling is the first bottling since 1986.

Bottle@Home. Sweet apples and gin aroma. Yellow color, small diminishing off-white head, fair lace. Sweet, bitter, apples, very alcoholic and syrupy. Way too alcoholic actually.

Bottled(330ml). -The last avaliable Schloss Eggenberg beer. Vintage 2007.
Pours a clear golden colour with small white head and strong alcoholic malt nose. Toasted malt and strong sweet alcoholic taste and nothing else. The finish is also sharp alcoholic. Much too alcoholic to get more than 2.8.

Rating #1300:: 33cl bottle, Red and silver label. 14% ABV. This is the strongest Helles ever made! Pours the color of 24K gold. Aroma of a super hopped mead. Needs a bunch of age on it. Big bitterness, just in the nose. Flavor is hugely sweet. Burns a little as it goes down. Big ABV!

Bottle. Poured bright golden-orange with a soda-like fizz that quickly succumbed. The aroma is explosive ... full of medicinal qualities. This drinks like a punch in the mouth, a full assault of pure ethanol, tempered by super sweet fruit syrup. I’m afraid to breathe near an open flame. (#3380, 4/6/2008)

Bottle: Pours orange with a off white bubbly head. Deep malty sweet & fruity aroma. Very warm, vinous, sticky & sweet. A bit harsh & the alcohol prickles your tongue. Medium bodied with a low carbonaion. Quite sippable!

Full bodied, and full flavored yet still quite mellow for having 14%. Slightly oily and makes your tongue feel like it has a slight bit of a coating. Sweet taste with an alcohol proof that lingers in the back of your throat, can’t taste yet you can feel.
