Dont know why it took me so long to review this one, Ive been picking away at a case of it I cellared some time ago and it gets better with a year or so of age on it. Pours a luxurious dark honey gold with a massive sticky white frothy cap. Aroma is sweet honey some wood and licorice fusel tone almost like a sweet brandy. Rich thick body produces a massive chew on toffee malts in the front, some smoky oak, apple. Then it seems to thin a bit as the finish reveals the alcohol in a licorice tang. Slightly complex, big full bodied , long-lagered beer that any beer drinker has to appreciate.

pours a clear dark yellow with a thin white head that goes away quickly, and no lacing. smell is of grapes, fruit, some floral, alcohol, and citrus in the back. taste is flat, sweet fruit, and malt, ends slightly bitter and warming. overall i would not classify this as a doppelbock more of a belgium ale.

This Bock poured a crystal clear light yellow colour with next to no head at all even after a vigorous pour. To the nose there are scents of alcohol vinegar corn and caramel. First taste is very malty with a strong mettalic flavour. Tastes of metal corn malt and hopps. Strong corn flavour at the finish with the metal and hopps lingering. I don’t know how this beer has a 69 percentile.

Bottled. A clear golden beer with a medium sized and disappearing white head. The aroma is strong and malty with note of caramel, fruits and alcohol. The flavour is very sweet but pleasant, warming and fruity. Medium to full body, average carbonation, long finish with light bitterness. The alcohol is felt. Not exactly my kind of beer, but good for a cold winter evening like this.

A clear orange/golden colored beer, with a nice thick white head. The aroma is malty sweet, with fruits. The taste is spicey, sweet fruits like peaches and a little banana. There is alcohol in the back. The aftertaste is a bit burny an d some bitter. At the end it’s sweet and sticky.

The bottle looks really, really good. The beer in the glass is lighter than exspected. Hoppy-alcoholic aroma. Tastes strong, wood and alcohol, but not too much. Modest sweet in the background. Strong and warming finish. Good beer!
