330ml bottle. Pours a golden orange-yellow, very clear, head vanished instantly. Little visible carbonation. Aroma is very strong, smelling mostly of fruity hops. Palate is smooth yet silky, and does have a kick. Taste is an intense combination of malt, hops, fruit and sweetness. Taste is quite complex and interesting.

11.2oz bottle. Medium golden-orange color. Aroma is ruthless, like a cognac or liqueur. Taste is creamy, smoky, and smooth, with a kick of cognac-like flavor and alcohol. The finish is quite warming but pleasant. Moving past the intense aroma, I find this beer to fill a niche of it’s own. Great malt characteristics. A unique classic.

Very nice rich gold with almost no head. Sweetish aroma and got some vanilla flavour. Not as sweet as many bocks I’ve had lately which is a good thing. Decent finish and kicks a real punch.

330 ml bottle from the LCBO. pours golden with a short lived fizzy head that had huge bubbles. soft carbonation. aromas of complex sweet malts with some chewy graininess and noble hops with alcohol coming through at the end. flavours are initial a plesant mix of sweetness, malts and noble hops before the alcohol smacks you in the face. not a bad brew but theres alot i didnt care for. my other bottle will not be opened for a while and we will see if that helps smooth this one out a bit.

Bottle from LCBO, golden with zero head and zero visible head. Malt-grass aroma with lemon traces. What a mix mash of flavour, bitter, toffee, sour, sharp, not nice at all, drainpour

At Three cellars tasting. A bit too sticky and sweet, maybe I don’t like Doppelbocks as much as I thought I did. This one left a bitter finish and it just felt all wrong.

Clear golden poor with a very thin almost non-existant head. Aromas of corn, corn syrup, cranberries, toffee and ginger. Missing a little complexity for a 9% brew... Lack of bitterness, sweeter presence. Creamy body with nice effervescence. Flavors of lime and beer, corn and acohol fumes. Far from the cognac of beers but definitely worth trying.
