Malty nose with tropical fruit, orange peel and grassy notes. Sweet with hints of marzipan. Malty taste with notes of dried fruit, lots of malt sweetness and dominant notes of fiery alcohol. Notes of grass, hay and toffee in the finish. Full body, really sweet. Better balance than expected but still dominated by alcohol sweetness. Nice, but Samichlaus is more balanced despite the higher alcohol level. LordCorkscrew (963), Ronco Scrivia (GE), Italy

Schiuma inesistente, colore biondiccio fosforescente. Una doppelbock ’rinforzata’ con risultati non troppo armoniosi.______________ENGLISH TEXT HERE______________Could also be "the Cognac of beers" but to me it has leaved a bad impression; tons of alcohol in the aroma and flavor. Non existent head, fosforescent blondish color. A "forced" dopplebock with disarmonic results. kp (8399), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 28, 2007 Bottled. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is sweet malts and hops along with some slight alcohol. Flavour is slightly metallic, quite fruity and malty with some nice burning alcohol. Long alcohol and toffee in the aftertaste. Not bad. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 27, 2007 Golden colored, small white head. Sweet, fruity, caramelly, rich
bock-spiced aroma. Alcohol comes up mildly. Medium to full bodied. Flavor is richer with this sweet fruitiness, spices, honey and raisins also there. Alcohol also present, but not too much. Aftertaste is fine balance of warming alcohol and sweet fruits, still some bitterness comes up. Good bock, flavor is way richer than aroma. mds (2112), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 26, 2007 Bottle. Pours a light golden body with a white small ring of head. The aroma is sweet, berry-like, toasted grains, and apparent mild fusels. Doughy caramel flavours and alcohol are notable along with toastiness. Finishes with silky burnt malts. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 24, 2007 330. Pours crystal clear medium amber. Thick, sudsy platinum blonde head. Plenty of white lace up the glass. Big funky nose of old wet leaves and old wet grass. Sour. Watery, slightly fizzy, some biscuit and caramel in there, not much happening at the end other than a biscuity cling. Meh. Meh at best.
