Commercial Description:
Tradition reborn - Eisbock Kraftbier, a beer with patina, over 100 years old, once prescribed as a medicine for weak recovering patients - is currently celebrating its renaissance as URBOCK DUNKEL EISBOCK. Brewed with special dark malt and fermented with traditional Eggenberg yeast, this beer has a maturation period of up to nine months. Dark brown in color with an alcohol content of almost 10% by volume, URBOCK DUNKEL EISBOCK has a pleasant, full, and creamy body, with the aroma of coffe, surprisingly light on the tongue despite the alcohol content. Warming with toffee-like malty sweetness, balanced by a hoppy-bitterness in the finish, it is a power beer, as its traditional Austrian name says, best enjoyed after dinner or as an evening drink.

Clear, dark crimson hue, with a nice, 1/4" head of beigey foam. Aroma, fruity at first, even starkly so, raisins, dates, plums, dark cherries, and berries, with a touch of spices...powerful stuff, yeasty, bready, a rich mix of flavors, like a cinnamon/ginger cookie, with booze added! Taste: full-bodied, and thick with malt, rich flavor returns with every sip, dark, and ominous, a massive amount of flavor, even dangerous...not sure if I’ve ever had a dunkel eisbock before, but this is a damned good example. Has a solidly alcoholic feel, though still tingly and tasty...a good perk-you-up in dire times!

Bottle Pours a very dark mahogany with a nice foamy off-white head settling to a thin layer that says. The lacing is thin and spotty. Aroma is dark roasted gran, dark malt. Nutty and brown sugar, carmel. Taste is sweet and malty with an obvious alcohol right up front. Feel is smooth and the carbonation is lively.

Sparkling clear, very dark, burnt orange lager with a small, creamy, white head. The nose is of chocolate, cherries and other dark fruits. Fairly well-balanced. Although very malty, the brew is excellently hopped. Notes of cherry, chocolate and fig. Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. Lengthy, bitter-sweet finish.

Deep mahogany, small off-white head. Rich nose of dark fruits (fig, plum, cherry), grape, caramel, molasses, and touch of alcohol heat. Sweet dark malts shine full throttle with a small hint of bittering hops rounding it out. Reminds me more of a Belgian Strong. Medium to full-bodied and syrupy, soft carbonation, warming sweet alcohol finish. Great nightcap brew in celebration of USA swimming. F the Thorpedo!! ;-)

Dark reddish color. Small head. Aroma is dark fruit, molasses and brown sugar. A full bodied eisbock. Malts are fruity and rich. Earthy and smoky. Hints of bread, cherries, oak, smoke and a whole lot of other stuff. Very smooth. Touch of alcohol burn. Easily my favorite eisbock ( what a minute HOTD Dave is an eisbock… NEVERMIND), well easily my favorite available eisbock. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Dark, ruby red pour with a thin off-white head. Sweet, fruity aroma with some molasses notes and hints of raisins and dates. Flavor has some chocolate notes in there as well with some hints of molasses and brown sugar. Alcohol makes its presencs known, but is not distracting. Not as over the top as some Eisbocks I have had. Finishes strong, yet smooth, Very good Eisbock.

Beautifully dark crimson, glossy black vinyl/album/record hue in most light; medium beige head that sits with a creamy puff, settles slowly to keep a slim collar and whispy skimming. Minimal spotty lacing sticks. Aroma is gentle and fair of fruity dark stuff with prune, raisin, dates, and plum, with a bit of an overlay of red licorice and butterscotch. Flavors are extremely well-rounded, not a single exposed fruit makes itself known, everything melds together to make one nicely mild dark fruit salad. Tenuous candy aspects. Basically all malts with a subued tang to its character; slight cocoa, light mixture of alcoholic heat, cherry pits, raisin, and wood dry off with a tenderness to the palate. Some residual burn keeps along the back of the palate for a good while after. Feel is soft and lush with a close to full body, very low/light carbonation, well-rounded and fluffy texture. Smooth and delicately creamy with a slight dry finish and a slender warmth of alcohol to keep it on edge. Everything about its character screams drink me, enjoy me; and you will have no problem with that.

Pours a dark red, almost black with a small white head that leaves moderate lacing on the glass. Strong sweet aroma, very malty, with hints of chocolate, slightly roasty coffee, and a bit of alcohol near the end. Taste starts very smooth and sweet, great maltiness, caramel like, with a good balance. Very smooth brew, and at this amount of alcohol, its hidden very well.
