Aroma ia slight oxidation - cardboard and sherry notes (might be up a couple years old.) Fruity aroma of dates, plum, raisin, and sweet caramel malts, toffee, and nutty. Flavor is full with lots of caramel malts, more nuts, and a warming fruity alcohol kick in the end. Definitely a good winter warmer, but probably a bad choice to drink today sinc eit got into the upper 80’s. Still nice though. jzzbassman (847), New Albany, Mississippi, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 12, 2006 I’m not too familiar with the Eisbock kind, however, I wasn’t too impressed about what this brought to the table. Starts off very smooth a subtle. Don’t taste toffee-like appeal. I do enjoy the lighter body, but if you get a mouthful, the end tastes almost Identical to an Evil Eye malt liquor. Very odd brew. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 11, 2006 Bottled. Poured a clear shimmery copper with a very quickly-receding off-white head. Nose was sweet with rich vinous notes, mildly-toasted caramel, and alcohol-laced herbal hops... quite enticing. I loved the first half of the drink... velvety-smooth and medium-bodied with grapes and other darker fruits, buttered toffee, lightly-spiced rum, and grassy herbs... back end was rather sharp with alcohol and metallic notes taking center stage... finish was of dark fruits, toffee, and booze. Without the odd sharp stuff on the backend, this would be a 4. Helluva deal @ under $3. Magjayran (1379), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 22, 2006 Pours a dark brownish red color with almost no head. Sweet malty, slightly fruity aroma. Strong alcohol presence in the flavor but there is tons of maltiness going on here. Not really picking up any of the advertised coffee flavors. Just a sticky sweet eisbock. Enjoyable from start to finish. ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 19, 2006 Dark brown color with a head that goes away very quickly. Smells of nuts, fruits, and alcohol. Taste is sweet and malty with a hint of fruitiness. Not bad, pretty rich. After I drank this i was not feeling like drinking anymore beer. Its nice but I dont think I would go out of my way to find it, nor would I drink multiple bottles of this in a session.
