| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 1, 2006 Pours very dark, but clear, brown with a rust-colored tinge, with a small fizzy head that disappates quickly. Nose is powerful with notes of rasin and plum with a big toffee background and slight alcohol barely noted. Flavor is not as nice, caramelized raisins really hits up front with toffee, anise, and only a slight hop presence; almost a cola like flavor. Palate is lively with a nearly chewy, medium-full body. Finishes farily long and almost cloyingly sweet with the alcohol presence making itself known. A decent try to make an easier drinking eisbock, but a little too sweet and too overbearing with the alcohol. Worth a try but not something I would want to drink often. beastiefan2k (1601), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 25, 2006 Pours dark and slightly translucent. The smell is strong and alcoholic, not like the Samichlause but close. The body, as the decripstion on top says, is surprisingly light. The taste is strong but unbalanced. Maybe aging would do the trick. Lots of alcoholic sweetness and alcohol comes through. jpm30 (1588), East Central, Georgia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 25, 2006 From a slender 11.2oz. long neck embossed brown bottle, no bottled/packaged date. Made a good appearance, poured a clear red hued amber with a foamy pale tan head that settled into a semi-sticky, thin lacing, moderate carbonation overall. Had a big raisin bready nose, also a sweet toffee/caramel from the malts, with light whiffs of alcohol. A crisp, smooth full bodied mouth feel, good Eisbock drinkability. Crisp, sweet and dark fruity malty taste, raisins, dates with a caramelize sugar-like background, a subtle toffee flavor as well, an increasing alcohol warmth during the taste, and a dry-ish, sweet fruity malty finish with a lingering alcoholic warmth in the palate.
A nice Eisbock, one of my favorites from Eggenberg, worth giving a try.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 13, 2006 The pour is a dark amber with a small tan head. There are notes of coffee, caramel, and dark fruit in the aroma. Strong malt flavor dominates with a light hoppish background. Throughout there is an alcohol warming quality that lasts through to the finish. GreatLibations (1441), Last Supper, Arizona, USA
| 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | Apr 1, 2006 Pours a dark honey color with little froth yet ample residual effers. Smells like wet alfafa. Medium full nectar. Sweet berry flavors that dry slowly leaving a slight bitterness on the finish. With the sweetness, you can really tell how the hops come into play to ballance it out. Well ballanced and alcohol flavors are non existant. Overall; I highly recommend this brew. ratman197 (3206), Arvada, Colorado, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 16, 2006 Bottle poured a clear dark brown with a small, diminishing amber head. Aromas of dark fruit, coffee, and some vinous notes. Palate was medium bodied and crisp. Flavors of plums, molasses, and a bit of vinousness with a warming, lingering bittersweet finish.
