| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Feb 9, 2003 Deep reddish-brown; decent head; rich aroma like roast beef, rich munich malts, pecans, demerara, tobacco. Wonderful malt palate - demerara again, chewy earth, wood. Long, wonderful malt finish. Hint of alcohol. Damn Eggenberg rocks. argo0 (6907), Washington DC, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Apr 30, 2003 Clear chestnut body with smallish beige head. Aroma is rich, moderately sweet, caramel, coffee, malty, earthy. Taste is sweet, toffee-coffee-caramel, malty, earthy, finishing with pleasant smokey alcohol burn/warming. Medium-full body, but still lighter than everything else about it would suggest. Easily my favorite of the Eggenbergs I've tried. bierkoning (6049), La Tropica, Netherlands

Tap, Café de Engel Oldenzaal. Full malty aroma. Sweet but with a firm roasty malt character and in spite of the high ABV, a firm flowery hop character. Warming alcohol. Smooth and well balanced. Good!
